Founding Youth Leaders (who helped create "WereFedUp.com") took part in a historic media event to formally launch the first ever youth-led online social network dedicated to fight youth obesity. These events - held in the cities of Baldwin Park and South Los Angeles California on September 17, 2009 - were attended by members of the media, elected officials, students, celebrities, and other community leaders. At these media events, Founding Youth Leaders spoke about the importance of teens making a difference in their communities and hope that "WereFedUp.com" is the best approach to convey this message to teens just like them.
